How to use this site...

At long last a proper 'read me' file that explains unique features on the Formula One E-zine at www.F1Reports.com!

How about some music whilst you read...

---

ADVANCED SEARCH
We have thought ahead about fans following their favourite teams and with this in mind the 'ADVANCED SEARCH' allows you to quickly see 'at a glance' the latest information published by your favourite team.

The main news menu provides the 'latest news'. OFFICIAL POSTS will be interspersed within this menu BUT clicking on an OFFICIAL POST brings its own menu which allows you to navigate through all the articles by that contributor.

In theory this site is a true portal as we currently have 25 contributors within this E-zine. You will notice this as you follow articles throughout the day - especially on GP weekends.

In our own parlance this is a bit like a 'contextual menu' and we have not seen it implemented elsewhere on the web ;-). Having said that we don't appear to have much time for research with the timely running of this project!!!

---

THE CALENDAR
This is a very powerful feature within the site. Visitors may prefer to use this inclusion as it will provide the most up to date information for any given day. It's quite normal - especially on a day of a GP weekend to have upto 30 posts - sometimes even more...

IF you check in early with your breakfast and coffee you can check the previous day's posts. Checking in during an event will always have the most recent posts in the right column. Checking in the evening allows the calendar to be used to catch up on the all of that day's posts. This can be quite a read especially IF you are an avid fan of Formula One. The CALENDAR ensures that you don't miss out on any important 'breaking news' that you might have missed whilst at work!

SMOOTHED FONTS
Right click on the desktop
Under Display Properties click - Appearance
Click - Effects
Select - Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts
Hi-light - Clear Type
Click OK

This will allow you to read the content at the site more legibly.

---

facebook
We have a profile on FaceBook and you can check in at your convenience to see the latest posts made via the site. The account name is 'F1Reports'.

We have enrolled on a few 'groups' on the FaceBook site and this could be a good starting point in contacting existing friends and also making new ones. There are quite a few Formula One fans on the site and checking our profile on FaceBook will get you underway quickly. We intend posting every article to the site so it should be an extra method by which you can keep an eye on the site during breaks at work. Clicking on any of the articles will bring you straight back to www.f1reports.com and you can catch up on the day's articles at the site.

---

twitter
We also make announcements on the 'twitter' service and this can be useful for those following tweets by a variety of sources for the latest news and posts. Please Note: The 'twitter' service only allows for minimal text (140 charcaters including web address) so we will make posts accordingly. Our posts will be made anonymously for the present and we will create an official profile once we have a sufficient following...

We have also included a 'twitter' tool site wide and this allows you to hi-light copy within any text and this utility will speedily allow you to post to the 'twitter' service. The tool is 'very powerful' as it automatically copies the link of the page that you post from. We hope that you will use this with your 'twitter' account as it gets the information out to a wider audience much quicker than conventional means.

Please Note: Adding the following '#F1', ensures that any information you upload to 'twitter' will be read by the appropriate readership. That being Formula One fans! ;-)

---

SUGGESTIONS
You can write to us about any tweaks and suggestions and we will attempt to address them as soon as is possible!

We hope that you will enjoy the site as it is for 'petrol heads' created by 'petrol heads'...

ENDS!
